Friends are...

Friends are angels who lift us off our feet when our wings have forgotten how to fly.
Does that mean that if we lose a friend, we will undergo freefall acceleration and crash dead flat into the rocky ground?

Many people walk in and out of our lives. Only friends leave footprints in our heart.
Hmm... I seemed to remember there's a process called weathering and erosion that comes with time and tide.....

Friends are like stars, not always seen but always around you.
I never knew that the synonym for 'friends' is 'flies'......

To me, friends are not angels, they are our wings, a part of our lives; They do not leave mere footprints, a part of them resides in our heart; They are not always seen but they always make opportunities to see you, and are there when you need them.

For the proverbial 'Absence makes the heart grows fonder' is total crap. Absence will only make a friend dissolve slowly into nothingness, into mere memories, never to be relived again. I have told a friend that I would be very happy if any of our classmates will still be my friend when I am half a century old, for Ive seen in my 2 decades of pitiful existence, many friends-turned-acquaintances, and as many acquaintances-turned-strangers. Friends forever... how nice yet naive this sounds....

We make friends whenever we go, it takes fate to make a friend, but it takes effort and commitment to make the friendship pass the test of time and distance.
I just hope I can summon out enough of this effort and commitment in myself.
