Everybody needs a break every now and then.
Here am I, after a week of online inactivity.
Been busy these few weeks, seen much these few weeks. Old pple go, new pple come in. Somehow, old pple always seems better. It occurs to me that the quality of soldiers get worse and worse. Be it real, or be it just my biased perception, who cares, anyway, the world is as I view it, rite?
Tokked much with an ORDered personnel today. Not realli the closest of frens, but we still went through thick n thin together. Was bitching about pple, about the decline of character of the soldiers. Gone are the days where I would see helpful pple helping others voluntarily. Seems like I am one of the few pple left now.
Was discussing about the value of ranks in NS nowadays. It seems like I have a totally distorted perception of what rank meant today. To me, ranks meant responsibility. Responsibility and care for those under u. When doing guard duty, when doing work, I always ensure that the recruits and privates get more welfare. Willingly stand on sentry for longer hours, allowing him to take a longer rest. When things go wrong, shoulder the blame. If NSF dun help each other, who would? Yet, everyone else says that rank gives power to tekan others, the power to arrow others, the privilege of pointing the accusing finger at others. And they are the honoured, the ones deemed worthy of the rank by the state. So I must be wrong then. How can someone whom the government deemed worthy of promotion after a few months be wrong compared to someone who remain as he is after more than a year? Please, change ur stupid views, CSQ.
Combatants vs logisticians. Both are equally important to the nation. Yet, y is it that i somehow feel that the former dun have such an inflated ego about themselves compared to the latter? The sense of brotherhood, the sense of male bonding - the very essence of the interactions that bring guys together seems to be lacking so much in the latter. Why is it that combat specialists can do area cleaning with the men, can protect their own men while this is visibly absent in the logisticians? Alas, the onli conclusion i get is that cleaning is physical labour, protecting the fellow men requires such muscular strength that the latter cannot summon.
On a lighter note, this is one of the few days in this year that i manage to post a blog at this time, 4 10pm. And i shud be satisfied. =)
