Spiderman, Spiderman... Ur friendly neighbourhood spiderman...

Spiderman 2 was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C.

I think that it has just beaten Troy to be my movie of 2004. Somehow, this movie highlighted so many concepts that we see in everyday's life, the movie resonates so much with what I see, what i experience such that it is scary... it is as though someone can see my thoughts and filming it out as a movie.

Tobey as Spiderman. With great power comes great responsibility. Responsibility so great it weighs down heavily on the young man's shoulders. So much so it confuses him. To accept the responsibility and sacrifice himself nobly, or to reject the task and goes on to be a normal man, enjoying the freedom that comes with it.

This is indeed a terrible thing.

Torn between the mortal selfishness+desires and the admirable, self-sacrificing superhero that everyone looks up to. What will one choose?
I dunno. But I can understand Peter parker's concerns.

As spidermen, he does so much for the citizens, so much so people take his presence for granted. What does he get in return? Being branded Doc Ock's accompolice? It doesnt matter if he was not being recognised for his efforts, but in this case, his good intentions have been badly distorted by others.

It disillusioned him. Dulled his purpose and resolve to be spiderman. What for? What does he get in return for being spidey?

Poor grades, losing his sweetheart, not being understood by anyone, yet unable to tell anyone to share his troubles with. He loses everything; and seems to gain nothing for all his noble efforts. Little wonder that he, at one point, doubted his own self and gave up spiderman.

This story is so real... to me... that it sends a shiver up my spine.
Great story, great film.
